The Research And Development Of Customized CAPP System

More and more enterprisers have realized that it is very important to resolve such problems as releasing technologists from burdensome and repeated labor, managing a mass of technical files and data effectively, integrating with other information systems of an enterprise and so on. The application and development of CAPP (Computer Aided Process Planning) has offered an approach for enterprisers radically. However, they should select a CAPP system that suits those enterprises because that can not only make use of CAPP fully but also build a better foundation for enterprise data integration and management.At present, most of the traditional CAPP system are aimed at some kinds of products of the enterprise which pays attention to the special-purpose, or excessively emphasize the versatility of system but neglect the usability, so they are very difficult to suit the request of the users. The customized CAPP system requests that CAPP system must face to the users to design and must supply definition function to the users, so as to improve the adaptability of the system. At the same time, the design of CAPP system also must consider the reuse ability of the system so as to improve the Service life and the expandability of the system. According to the usability and the reusability principle, combining an actual CAPP system the paper discussed the design thought and the realization method of customized CAPP system and researched some key techniques in the process of the system realization.This system takes the relating database, SQL Server 2000, as the background server database and Visual Basic 6.0 as foreground developing tool of database. And it develops client software with C/S mode because this mode is interactive and transplantable and simples operation greatly.This paper determined the whole design plan of customized CAPP system, detailedly explained the design of the correlative system database. Some key techniques and methods of how to realize the definition tool of process card in CAPP system by VBA based on Word 2000 ActiveX object models are discussed emphatically. The paper detailedly explained the key techniques in the system development and discussed the function module and the interface design of the system.
