The paper uses the object-oriented united modeling language (UML) to develop the distribute fan remote monitor and fault diagnosis system. It unifies the UML technology, and solves the basic process of the system's achievement and the linchpin questions of the system modeling. The main contents of the thesis are as follows:1) The paper constructs the Remote Monitoring and Diagnosis System of fan, that is to say, on-line monitor subsystem, WEB server subsystem and the fault diagnosis subsystem. The data transmission process of the whole system is described by charts. Each part of the function and the characteristic of the fan on-line monitor and fault diagnosis system are described particularly.2) The object-oriented united modeling language (UML) is applied in the whole system. From the initial user's demand to the final structure analysis, sampling subsystem, the analysis subsystem, the data service subsystem and other parts are analyzed and modeled particularly by using the Use Case Diagram, the State Diagram, the Collaboration Diagram and the Sequence Diagram, and the dependence and the association between each subsystem are analyzed deeply. The composition and the running process of on-line monitor system can be understood clearly and directly. The various questions in using UML to construct the system are solved.3)The structure of fan remote monitor system based on OPC technology is constructed, synthesizing C/S two structures and B/S model, the "thin" client side is realized, the remote client side only need to install the browser and the correlative protocol software, then diagnosis center server can be visited through browser.4) The systematic structure of the fan diagnosis system is researched. According to the trouble information, the concrete trouble type is judged by using the mixed systematic knowledge base on the symptom fact database, traditional expertise experiences diagnosis rule and data mining. And the diagnosis conclusion and maintenance information are displayed on the remote customer browser.Based on the Internet remote monitor and diagnosis system is a multi-tier, heterogeneous and complex distributed system. On one hand, it can monitor and heterogeneously diagnose in different places, and then get the past and current information on the condition of the machines. On the other hand, the remote expert diagnosis can improve the veracity of the fault diagnosis via the Internet. Therefore the remote monitor and diagnosis will have a bright future in industry applications. The successful application of the remote monitor and diagnosis system in the project has ensured the execution of remote monitor and diagnosis theoretically and practically.
