Although the knowledge of wind effects on tall buildings has significantly improved over the last decades, an understanding of the mechanism that the atmospheric flow field to various wind include effects on structures has not been developed sufficiently for formulation of functional expressions .Not only is the wind approaching a building complex, but the flow pattern generated around a building is complicated by the distortion of the mean flow field, the flow separation ,the vortex formation, and the wake development. Under the excitation of wind forces, a building vibrates in bended and torsional modes. So, the assurance of safety and serviceability of tall building under strong winds is an important design objective.Along with the development of science and technology, the height of tall building increases constantly. Wind load is one of the dominating loads which must be considered in the design of structures such as high-rise buildings, large-span spatial structures, towers and guyed masts. The main study method of wind engineering of structures is wind tunnel experiment. In order to research the wind loads and dynamic responses of tall buildings, the numerical analysis technique, experiment of aeroelastic model in boundary layer wind tunnel, and high-frequecy force balance technique have been reported in this paper. Pedestrian level wind concerns are also addressed, In this paper, the wind pressure distribution on the surface of Yingli Building in Chongqing is introduced.A wind tunnel test of Yingli Building rigid model is investigated in Beijing university environment wind tunnel laboratory. The average wind pressure and the pulsation wind pressure are given systematicly. Results are gained which can be used for design. The safety and the stability of the building can be protected. The main research has been done as follow: In chapter 1,the results of previous studies about wind ad dynamic responses for high-rise building are reviewed and discussed.Chapter2 is aim at estabilishing a suit of effective methods for wind effect analysises, including the mechanical model, the analytical approach, the experimental technique and the application of experimental results to real tall buildings, which are not only applicable for all the types of high-rise buildings without the limitations in the previous theories, but also conductive to further investigation of the wind-resistant capabilities and dynamic behaviours.
