As the traditional inspecting manner, flexible gastrointestinal endoscopes can not inspect the small intestine entirely. Other traditional examining methods can not satisfy the demands of clinical diagnosis too, because of their low sensitivity and reliability. By comparison, wireless endoscopes are capable of eliminating the limitations of conventional GI endoscopes. Wireless endoscope capsule can be swallowed into the intestine to take photographs of gastrointestinal tract continually. By this way can inspecting the gastrointestinal tract entirely. This examining method is noninvasive and painless, which is in line with recent trends towards noninvasive and minimally invasive therapy. This is a great advantage over traditional endoscopes. The thesis firstly gives a survey about the research progress of gastrointestinal endoscope. The miniature wireless endoscopic capsule system be developed in this project consists of three parts: wireless camera-capsule, portable image record set and video-browsing workstation. Firstly, the thesis introduce the designing schemes of each module. Especially the particular of designing scheme of prototype of wireless endoscope capsule. Involve: selection of image sensor OV7930N and its defects such as its size is too big and power consumption is too high, furtherly, the solution of these defects; Wireless camera-capsule must be miniature and low power consumption and power supply by off-and-on mode; the introduction of rise and steady voltage chip LF1751-5; designation of an optical lens and light illumination circuit; amplitude modulation mode of analog video signal transition; use a video collection card to collect video signals for it can collect a series of photos or a single photo and display it in real time; the designation of portable image record set and a patient can move at random by carry it. After the inspection, data can be transmitted into video-browsing workstation to analysis and processes; the designation of core controller based on MSP430 microcontroller, and the construction of real time operating system. A prototype of wireless endoscopic system has been designed and manufactured, the animal trials have been performed in a pig's intestine and the photos of intestinal wall have been acquired successfully. Nevertheless, the research of wireless endoscope has profound significance for the fields of biomedical engineering.
