Harmonic becomes an important element of impact for electric quality in power system, harmonic sources identifying and location are necessary for actual detection and management. The text firstly gets the harmonic distribution of the entire electric network with harmonic state estimation (HSE) method, it is enough to locate the harmonic sources. It paves the way to monitor harmonic in real time together with SCADA ( Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition ) system.The modern measurement technology is prior condition of the HSE , meanwhile it brings some advancement for the relevant problems about measurement variables,estimation models,solution algorithm and observation analysis. Firstly the text introduces the basic theory of Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU), and selects the synchronism measurement value of bus voltage,bus influx current and branch current as measurement variables, the bus voltage in the whole net as status variables,the following brings up measurement models and state estimation methods, then advances homologous solution algorithm , brings forward optimization allocation project on basis of it. The simulation and procedures are used to verify it. Last of all, detection methods of the bad data and evaluation for HSE are proposed. The major work and conclusion as follows:â‘ For enough measurement equation (overdetermined), estimation values can be gotten directly through simple matrix calculation when measurement matrix is without illness. The article deals with the measurement matrix in advance with laminarization algorithm by node numbering optimization.â‘¡For illness measurement matrix, there are some ways to solute equations such as orthotropic transformation method,hybrid method and SVD method, the SVD is used to solve illness equation due to its simple and fast calculation.â‘¢For underdetermined measurement equations and illness measurement matrix, there are not enough equation quantities. SVD is used to solve harmonic state estimation firstly, then the least square solution can be obtained by SVD.â‘£Building on SVD method, the thesis analyzes measurement allocation problem of part observable system firstly. Go further, measurement allocation can be optimized.The computational results of the examples and procedure show that:â‘ Measurement matrix is simplified by node numbering optimization.
