Research On The Diesel Engine Measurement System Based On Virtual Instrument Technology

This paper comes from a defense key subject construction project, the purpose of which is to design a diesel engine test bed used for scientific research on measurement, test and control technologies. The test bed consists of an diesel engine, a power meter, accessory plants and measurement& test system. For the multi-function demand, high-tech, extendable ability are required strictly. Domestic measurement& test systems hardly meet the need while overseas' are characterized by advancement but expensive. Virtual instrument technology is the fashion in the area of measurement, test and automation based on computer. Now, this technology has been widely applied in IC engine measurement and test. So in this paper, a diesel engine measurement system test bed based on virtual instrument technology is developed. Main work includes system structure design, data acquirement (DAQ) system design, and measurement& test system software development.System structure is discussed in this paper which is decided by function demands, parameters needed to measure, and technology available. Consider the development of technology and teaching demand, extended hardware is obligate to make the test bed meet the various demands of experiments.DAQ system is designed. In the system, parameters are divided into stead-going and transient ones. Conditioning circuits are designed for stead-going parameters which include amplifier, refinisher, isolator and filter. Schematic circuits and explanation are presented.Software development is main work. Considering test bed functions and present experiment teaching contents, programs designed include system initialization program, main panel program, run monitor and alarm program, performance parameters calculator program, heat release calculator program, run state governor emulator program, vibration rank calculator program, and aerodynamics frequency phrase analysis. Some productions are presented.
