In this paper, inspected and tested some converter station, and found that the HVDC & reactor are the main sources. Considering the radiated noise characteristics and the maneuverability of noise reduction scheme.The absorption material is pasted in the fire proof wall,and the sound barrier with the aeration constructure is placed in front of the HVDC,and put a sound shield on the reactor to reduce the noise. The designable sound barrier and sound shield are calculated and the noise reduction results of them are presented. The experimental results and theoretical results are compared with each other.There are some good results after the noise reduction project. For example, the noise have been reduced to 17dBA near the HVDC, and 7dBA near the reactor. Measuring point L on the southwest corner,the noise have been reduced to 5dBA; measuring point L on the northeast corner,the noise have been reduced to 5dBA.There are lots of advise for new converter station.
