This paper mainly discusses how to design a high stability current control power supply for laser gyro of double anodes and common cathode in North-Finder based on Ring Laser Gyroscope. The characteristic of switching power supply and flyback converter are introduced, and the design of flyback transformer is presented, on this basis, the circuit which generates high-voltage is designed. The circuit based on LM311 and CD4011 is designed to test the working state of RLG. The difference between the method that the sum and the subtraction of two-arm currents are separately controlled and the method that two-arm currents are separately controlled is discussed, and the later method which is more simple and accurate is selected. Transfer function of the closed-loop is presented after analyzing every part of the closed-loop of current control. The time-domain and frequency-domain characteristic of the closed-loop is analyzed and the stability error is discussed, and the closed-loop's ability to restrain the noise is simulated by the tool of Simulink, so as to optimize the parameters.The experiment result shows that the current control system based on analog component has many strong points, such as simple structure, short stability time, high current stability, good temperature performance, and wide input voltage range etc. Long-term instability of single-arm current is less than 1×10-3, and subtraction instability of two-arm current is less than 2.2×10-5,which satisfies the request of high precision current control power supply for North-Finder based on RLG.
