The Applied Research On MapInfo In The Community Planning Management Information System

The techniques of geography information system (GIS) have been developing rapidly in recent years. As the representative of the public type GIS, MapInfo has been applied in many field. Based on GIS principle, the research on the application of MapInfo software and the theory of community planning management, this paper expounds the establishment of community planning management information system (CPMIS) in view of its practical application. Making use of the advanced facing object program language Visual Basic6.0 and OLE technology to develop application program that based MapInfo, it can operate the Access Database by ADO Data Control. The system establishes a pleasant interface, independent of MapInfo. The establishment of the system can informationalize community planning management, demonstrate the community look better, provide the service of searching and analysing the data of space and attribute, and assist the community management to raise its efficiency.The main part of the paper is as follows:The first part: introducing the development of GIS, the features of MapInfo and the significance of this research on them; giving a brief introduction of the related theories of community planning.The second part: discussing the designing principles and methods of this system from the analysis of its need; tentatively setting the functional goal which the system targets at.The third part: master designing in the system; expounding the selecting ways of developing it, database construction and the principles of developing the customer interface.The last part: detailed designing and developing the system; realizing various functions of this system.
