The prestressed sector-bowstring structure is a new load-bearing structure, it has concise pattern, aesthetic linear, small gravity. The stress of its members is succinct and definite. Its members complement each other and cooperate to making full use of advantages of different materials. In a word, this structure is a typical arciform combinational system. This structure is used in large span structure in civil engineering, especially in the bridge construction in mountainous areas or in the landscape bridges.As a new type structure, there were no reports and literature of the relevant studies on prestressed sector-bowstring structure at present. This paper mainly focus on some basic research as follows:(1)The conception, characteristics and load-bearing principle of the prestressed sector-bowing structure in detail.(2)The effect of the value and acting way of prestressing force (shortening the string bar and elongating the struts) on load-bearing and deformation of the structure was analyzed. It can be used as advice for the forming of prestressing force of the structure.(3)The effect of rise-span ratio of arch and rag-span ratio of cable, moment of inertia of arch, and the number of struts on load-bearing and deformation of structure is discussed in detail on one structure model. It can be used as reference in structure design and application.(4)One experimental model of the prestressed sector-bowing structure is made. Adopt equivalent load at every nodal to it with multi-stage loading, drew the relevant development rule of the strain of the longitudinal reinforcement and the relation curve of load and distortion of the mid-span of the bowing-beam, verified the destruction shape of the structure. Through contrasted with the theoretical result, there is a few beneficial conclusion.
