In order to achieve the transition of design method from permissible stress-method to partial coefficient method, reliability of slide-resistant piles has been systematically researched in this paper. This study is preparing for the coming modification of Code for design on retaining engineering structures of railway subgrade, also is providing the foundation for future deeply study. Summarily, following topics are discussed in this paper.Firstly, limit state equations are developed. According to three failure models of slide-resistant pile (flexural failure, sheared failure and soil failure), three limit state equations are respectively developed after consulting lots of reference and deliberate analysis.Secondly, three limit state equations' target reliability indexs are selected after comprehensive calculating of reliability index. C program of Monte-Carlo method is developed in this paper. Then, 108 slide-resistant piles embed in soil foundation and 107 ones embed in rock foundation are computed to express the safety level of piles in form of reliability index. With compute results' statistics and analysis, three limit state equations' target reliability indexs are acquired with calibration method.Thirdly, partial coefficients and expressions are presented. For the sake of taking reliability research results into engineering, resistance partial coefficient and action partial coefficient are obtained by using common separating method. Subsequently, expressions of design and checking computations containing partial coefficients are gained. Thus, partial coefficient design method is gained.Finally, by designing some slide-resistant piles in two ways, one way is what this paper presents, the other way is the present design method, two design results are close. However, it proves that partial coefficient method this paper presents is more reasonable and economical. The research result will be significant in engineering practice.
