Inductive sensors are widely used in engineering due to their simple structures, high output capacities, good linearity, good disturbance resistance, good stability and low prices. Based on thoroughly analysis of linear inductive sensors, a new inductive displacement transducer with special structure of probe coil is designed in this thesis. Further more, a suspending gap measurement module used in High-speed maglev vehicle is implemented. This module can partly eliminate the tooth-groove-effect from special structure of track in linear synchronous motor (LSM) by using a new stereoscopic probe coil. In the design of electric circuit, the effect from the change of temperature and the unlinearing varying of inductor was considered. The demand of measurement was met by using field programmable gate array (FPGA) and a new look-up table (LUT).Field programmable gate array (FPGA) which has a flexable design and short develepment cycle is a new kind of digital logic device. In this thesis, FPGA is used to implement the ruction of suspending gap measurement module including the part of gap measurement, the part of signal receiver, and synchronous serial comunication between these two parts. Gap measurement card includes sampling and processing of signal, signal receiver card includes receivering and D/A converting of signal. In addition, suspending gap measurement module integrates some assistant measurement tolls as velocity measurement tool and acceleration measurement tool. Finally, a kind of gap sensor is made according to ideas above, and a calibration system for the gap measurement module is simply introduced and some calibration data is given according to given condition.
