The Inheritance And Operation Of Traditional Elements In Street Facility Of Modern City

The city is ideal tool and environment which can improve social organization and human life-style. It not only supplies material conditions and convenience for all kind of human activities, but also satisfies development of human varied life by its specific culture, society and economic background. The city street facility is a city be the thing of the tool to turn one of the forms, is the tool guarantee of human street life, at the same time, its form, outline, the color , texture of the material is the important part of atmosphere of street landscape, carrier of city image and intermediary of city culture. Kevin Lynch induces composing elements of the city image into five types in abook------The image of the city, listing road in the first place, thus it can be seen, thecity is the key point of the city view programming design ,is also the important show that displays the city image and the city environment view, and the facilities of the street is the key that satisfies its function and improves the city magic power.This thesis gains the construction form of xi'an street facility from reflexing on the current street facility, taking xi'an for example, combining traditional elements and city street facility, surveying and analyzing the circumstance of xi'an city's traditional elements and the form of street facility. This thesis has three parts, the first part is the theory basis which expounds the relevant theory of traditional elements and city street facility individually, the second part is designing explore, which gives the designing suggestion to the construction of xi'an street facility from circumstance of street construction and the history of xi'an. The last part is conclusion , which prospects the xi'an city street facility under the background of xi'an tang royal city reviving plan.This thesis research covers all kinds of aspects and it is extensive, not only includingthe art design, but also having close relation with design of city planning, design of city view, design of industrial modeling, at the same time, has close contact with sociology, economics, psychology...etc. This topic research carries on under the control of whole programming in xi'an by putting forward a problem and analyzing the problem, summarizes the design principle of city street facilities in xi'an construction, has certain instruction meaning to the street facilities construction inside ancient city wall in xi'an.
