With the development of modern technique, new intelligent home based on network and information is now gradually replacing traditional intelligent home which based on home controller. For the reason of who constitute standard win the market, many domestic organizations drawed intelligent home network standards according to the situation of China. This paper summarized three protocols which have been published by the Department of Information Industry of China as recommendable industry standard—the CCSA protocol,the IGRS protocol,the ITophome protocol.This paper compared their technical emphasis and market focus,analyzed the relations and differences, evaluated the intelligent home network with a holistic view.As an important sub-system of the intelligent home system, intelligent lighting system has the advantage of efficient energy conserving, easily management operating,multiform lighting control and especially low expending , which has large potential market in China .This paper did the research and development of digital lighting system which based on intelligent home system, accomplished the R&D of digital addressable lighting interface(DALI) system, which including the master unit and the slave unit, and designed the power line carry wave X-10 embedded intelligent home gateway.After introduces the DALI standard protocol , compared the advantages and disadvantages of three DALI system designs, this paper bring forward a DALI system design using common chips. Implemented the function of DALI codes and instructions transmission and receiving by interface circuits.Described the construction from four parts: the hardware part, the software part, the signal test part and amelioration part. The R&D of DALI slave unit mainly contained the hardware parts below : A/D conversion of light sensor signal, D/A conversion of illuminating signal,PWM pulse modulate,driving circuit of halogen lamps, and also analyzed a circuit design of dimming ballast using UBA2014 for fluorescence lamps. The software flow chart is also given in this part.At the end of this paper the communication of X-10 intelligent home system with Internet was explored.This paper designed a embedded home gateway which based on the hardware of ARM7 kernel and the software of μc-Linux. It gives a new method of connecting traditional control-bus to Ethernet ,so that people can control home facilities from web in Internet remotely.
