With the development of automobile and micro-processor technology, embedded system has been widely used in automobile electronics. This thesis introduces the platform design of automobile audio system based on OMAP5912. The design integrates a high performance DSP subsystem based on a low power TMS32OC55x DSP and a MPU subsystem based on the ARM9 Microprocessor for the optimal combination of high performance with low power consumption, which also has characteristic of high expansibility.This thesis particular explains the system design and the circuit design including schematic and PCB. Bootloader programming and Linux transplant are also given in this thesis. And it briefly introduces the software framework of OMAP through the design of interphones based on the audio system.This thesis begins with the development of the automobile electronics, which is the backgrand of the thesis. After describing the development of embedded system and the characteristics of OMAP5912, it gives an audio system based on OMAP5912, which includes schematic and PCB designs. Then this thesis focuses on the transplant of the Bootloader and how to program it. And it also briefly introduces the software framework of OMAP through the design of interphones based on the audio system. The last part gives the conclusions and presents some suggestions for futher development.
