The Study Of Diesel/Methanol Compound Combustion Engine Is Applied To Generating Sets

This research focuses on the investigation of application of compound combustion engine in generating sets. Through theoretical analysis and practical applications of diesel and generating sets produced by our company, comprehensive investigations have been carried out in such aspects as soot and NOx emissions reduction from compound combustion engines, specific fuel consumption reduction, improvements of fuel economy of generating sets and compound combustion engine meets special power match of generating sets. A novel compound combustion theory is argued which suits the technology level and the resource of the energy of our country.The structural characteristic of compound combustion engine is modification of basic diesel engines into alcohol-injection engines. It can simultaneously reduce the soot (PM) and nitride oxidation (NOx) emissions from the engines, and at the same time using methanol in diesel engines can relieve the pressure of petroleum fuel consumption, alleviates the unbalance between the need and supply of petroleum which is in accordance with the national energy policy.Researches show that compound combustion engines should have the same capability to satisfy voltage and frequency stability in the course of leap transformation of load of generating sets and meet the need of higher governor rate required by the generating sets. This electronic governor control code is another keystone of the study.Applications of compound combustion engines in generating sets .This study is of great significance in theoretical contributions and practical future applications.
