Highway bridge construction has stepped into a peak stage with the economic developing in China. It' s only a few decades since it' s method has been adopted, but the concrete-filled steel tube (CFST)arch bridge construction has progressed much. The method of the CFST arch bridge construction mainly includes: planking method, horizontal construction method, vertical construction method and cable erecting method, or integrated of the above.Based on the development of the CFST arch bridge construction and it' s construction method and characters, backgrounded on the Taiping Lake large bridge which is presently under construction on Tong-Tang highway, this article emphasizes the process of the cable erecting, indicates that the crucial stage of the cable erecting is the stability of the main tower and prearranged heights of each unit during the tube erecting period. This article also shows the disadvantages of the normal cable erection, and adopted the limit length of cable to overcome it, which the cables are stretch-drew to one controlled condition and make the readjustment needless during the erection arch ribs period. Through establishing the rib' s raised height before hand, the cables' elastic stretching caused by cables' force increasement can adjust the ribs height. So when the arch ribs are joined together, the ribs level can suit with the design arch axis linear. The normal method need a repeated adjustment of the cables' relaxation level, which is more difficult, and the cable force is hard to control, the axis linear controlling is also complicated during the rib units assembling. The method of limit length of cable advantages in simple construction, easy operation, and no readjustment, it can be used for reference in the construction control.
