With the increase of traffic flow of urban road, the intersection is close to saturation state first, because of the much shape and complexity of traffic forms. Intersection bottleneck have become one of the important factor of restricting the entire road traffic system to function efficiency fully.According to the characteristic of signalized intersections and referring to the reliability theory assessment method improvement strategy, the calculation model of signalized intersections' reliability is established. At the same time, corresponding algorithm program is drawn up on Matlab platform;AHP method is used to establish the comprehensive evaluation index system and its successively step relation model of planar signalized intersections of urban road;various improvement strategies are summarized.This paper also mixes modem computer software development traffic analysis technology of intersection etc. together, and has developed comprehensive evaluation system of signalized intersections. Through demand analysis, This paper has discussed the function design and database design of the system, at the same time, with object oriented programming method, have developed comprehensive evaluation program. On this foundation, improvement strategy modular has also been developed for the manager referring to.According to the original formula of intersection capacity, This paper has still put forward the revise formula of left-turn lane after installing the left-turn waiting zone. And respectively compares the traffic benefit of installing the left-turn waiting zone or not with two processing techniques;at the same time, has discussed its installation condition.
