Bond graph theory is an effective tool of physical system's model and simulation. It notonly indicates the signal direction of the element, but also discovers the power direction, thetransformation of energy and the causal relationship of control signal. Therefore, bond graphis a model method based on energy conservation and signal casual analyses. This paperintroduces the basic principle of bond graph and its study trend. The application of bondgraph in thermal system is presented emphatically through deducing model of boilerfeedwater pump system and its simulation. Meanwhile the fault tree analysis method based onbond graph is also introduced in this paper. Compared with the result of simulation, thefeasibility of this diagnosis method is proved correctly. At last, the application of bond graphin the determinant of controllability and observability is presented. A lot of examples areintroduced to testify its feasibility and practicability. This provides a new approach for theapplication of bond graph in control theory.
