As a dynamic testing method for structural integrity of pile shaft, low strainreflected wave testing has more complete theoretical foundation and more advanceddiagnosis technology, so is widely used in the engineering project in our country.However, this method is still one developing practical technique, has not only a lot ofproblems remaining to solve in practical application, but also its own scope ofapplication and limitation. Using in a large amount must bring misunderstanding andconfusion, and unreasonable application must influence its science and accuracy,hinder its development normally. For the sake of disposing the theory, technique and practice of low strain reflectedwave testing in good relations, submitting the questions need to be paid moreattention to testers, the article try to give the method a systematic summary. First, thethesis introduces the developing state and the strong and weak points of dynamictesting method for foundation piles, and some quality problems easily occurred incommon pile types. Secondly, it mainly expounds the theory and practice of themethod in three respects: the base theory and the relevant theoretical analysis of thedifference between theory and practice;every link of the testing system and relevantdynamic testing technology;study of practical application. The third part is focalpoint, totally summing up low strain reflected wave testing from applicable scope,parameter of testing results, characteristics and influence of shaking source, fixationof sensor to influence of soil resistance, while also discussing some problems existingin practice and items needing to arouse attention, as well as some basic methods forapplied analysis. Finally, the article gives low strain reflected wave testing a briefsummary, thinks it necessary to limit the scope of tested object, take strict measures insite testing, lay stress on case of site construction and influence of soil stratum onindoor analysis, synthesize the various aspects to analyze and identify the qualityproblems of pile shaft, furthermore calls upon giving correct reasonable application,seeking new ideas in theory and technology to advance its healthy development inline with scientific attitude to this method.
