On the base of consulting lots of the literature on overseas and inland, analyzethe characters of water supply system, by which is the base on choosing the structureof water supply system decision support system. In this paper, multidimensionaldynamic database is firstly used, and at same time, the water supply system decisionsupport system, which is consisted of database, model base, knowledge base, isdeveloped and built.This DSS was developed on Management Information System ,so it can do: 1)data management and operation. 2) model management and operation. 3) final resultmanagement. 4) water supply system optimal decision. "water supply system decisionsupport system" is the typical DSS with model driving. Thus, its core is the choiceand use of models. In this page, the representation of models in system and the choiceas well as design of interface between models with independent subprogram andcontrolling program.By developed data interface between database and model base,the system can realize data interaction. Employing programming technology mixedwith different language, the system can realize connection between the chief programdeveloped with Delphi and model programs with Matlab and Lingo, elaboratesuperiority of different language, enable system structure more rational, run faster.Managed models and results by establishing the model base management system(MBMS) and final result base. Giving decision-makers the optimal models throughcomparing and selecting the models by MBMS. Finally, it's systematically studiedand compared to predict the water consumption in accuracy, speed, effect andapplicability among some methods to method base system. The correspondingconclusion is also received.According the design method above, author use lots of the data to validate thesystem, and the result is satisfied. So its useful is approved.
