This research used the computer program CONTAMW developed by NIST.CONTAMW is a multizone indoor air quality and ventilation analysis programdesigned to determine: airflows and pressure-infiltration, and room-to-room airflowsand differences pressure in building systems driven wind pressure acting on theexterior of the building, and buoyancy effects induced by temperature differencesbetween the building and the outside;contaminant concentrations –the dispersal ofairborne contaminants transported by these airflows.Based on a negative pressure isolation ward, several pressure difference aircontrol scheme were designed. The use of CFD software —PHOENICS has beenprogrammed to simulate different ACH and pressure difference accordingly designedparameter to obtain the dispersal of airborne contaminants and concentrations drivenby mechanical means. The CFD software validation was proved out by combiningwith the practical surveys of the negative pressure isolation ward experimentation.Based on the simulation results improved differences pressure and ACH was proposedand optimized.
