Bionic structure is a kind of structure which simulates the excellent structural form of nature and lies the interleaving of force and beauty of nature. Its appearance brings the revolutionary change to structural design and makes engineering more rich and colorful. The tube structure appeared for a long time as a kind of structure system, and was applied to high building, Tv tower, tall piers and pipe structure etc. However, the design of tube structure based on bionics is very rare in the world. This paper was illumed by the structure and mechanical character of the bamboo of the nature, and applied the thought to the design of reinforced concrete tall pier. This design has unique practicability and sightworthiness. This paper had done some researches aiming at the rare method of design, and done many analysis and discussion about some questions in order to quicken the application and extension in our country, and enrich and perfect national architectural structure systems.This paper summarized and concluded firstly the bionics and its application, the development and application of the architectural bionics structure. Secondly some useful characters of bamboo were put forwarded from many references to the results of some international scholars, and some important conclusions were received as follows: the distribution of bamboo burl along the height is from dense to loosen to dense, and the fiber bundle in the cross-section of bamboo has the same character from inside to outside. The tensile strength of the outside fiber is more than ten times the inside. At last, this paper applied the important thought to the analysis of reinforced concrete tall pier, build the logical and effective mode using ANSYS software to finish static and dynamic analysis to modes. The contents and conclusions of this paper were as follows:(1) Through static analysis and comparison to the different modes under the aclinic loading, this paper got the difference of the whole displacement and internal force of the structure.(2) Through static analysis and comparison considering the non-linearity of the reinforcing steel bar and concrete material, this paper got the results of the difference of the whole displacement and internal force.(3) By means of analysis of seismic response to all modes, this paper got the displacement-time curves of the top point of the difference modes.Through the above analysis and comparison, this paper drew the corresponding conclusion:the bionic structure is more superior than the non-bionic mode under the aclinic loading, horizontal seismic and the level loading considering the material nonlinearity. The displacement of the bionic modes gradually decreased with increase of the outside fiber volume fraction, applying a similar character for the stress of the reinforcing steel bar and the concrete, especially under the consideration of the material nonlinearity, under which the top displacement of the bionic structure decreased more 30% than the non-bionic mode, and the maximum stress of the steal decreased about 50Mpa. This can be seen that the application of the bionic thought to the design of the reinforced concrete tall pier is feasible absolutely.
