The stress and deformation of the concrete hollow pier in thin wall under the temperature load is one of the main factors resulting in body engineering trouble of pier and constructions control of the line shape for main beam. Regarding to this topic, although the domestic and international study has been started since the 60's of last century knowing by a careful literature review, the research on continuous rigid frame bridge which is in the process of just the cantilever construction is not much. Therefore, to make the thorough and meticulous research for the temperature effect of the hollow pier in thin wall in concrete is necessary and meaningful. To reach the temperature distribution mode suitable for the bridge engineering, this paper precedes the regression analysis to get the semi-theoretical and semi-empirical type of temperature distribution according to actual measurement spot data in the field engineering of Luohe Bridge. This paper also presents the curve diagram to compare with actual measurement spot data of other the mode to confirm the reliability and applicability of the recommended type. Finally this paper represents the comprehensive case study and analysis of temperature effect of the concrete hollow pier in thin wall. Based on the analysis, the paper puts forward practical suggestion for the elevation and line shape controlling of the cantilever construction of main beam. At the same time, the paper can be references for the design of the concrete hollow pier in thin wall.
