The analyses on hydraulic structure by finite element method (FEM) were made in this paper, based on the software of ANSYS. The content divided into two parts: the first part is about nonlinear numerical analysis for copper joint seal of concrete face rockfill dam (CFRD) on San Banxi project, the second part concerns numerical modeling analysis for dam body about the project of seepage prevention and reinforcement on Feng Mang dam.(1) The application of copper water seal of CFRD and present status of research were reviewed, and the essentiality of analyzing copper seal by building corner model was proposed. At the same time, this paper includes introduction on present status of seepage prevention and reinforcement on concrete dams, further the research on the project of notch in dam was significant.(2) Based on the software of ANSYS with powerful function of nonlinear analysis and shell analysis, nonlinear numerical analysis is applied to "F" copper seal. The straight model, deflexed model and in flexed model were applied during calculation, and the responds were reflected during the joint deformation. Meanwhile, the rules of stress change and corresponding conclusion come out by comparing results between models.(3) Simulating the process of box cut and backfill with simulation function of ANSYS, the three dimension FEM was employed to project of notch in Feng Man dam. The responds of stress and stabilization were gained at different project and condition, which determined the max water level that dam endures, and therefore the feasibility of project was demonstrated.The aoalinear aamerical analysis for copper seal aid the feasibility stady oa project of notch were performed la the dissertation, at the same time, which were performed m the engineering.
