Because of good architectural function and reasonable structural layout, R.C. frame structure with special-shaped columns has got relatively extensive application in the recent years. A new type of structure, special-shaped column frame system with bottom rectangle columns is suggested in this paper. However, as a kind of comparatively new structural system, it has never experienced the earthquake, and there is a lack of experiment data about the model in and out of country. The evaluation and research of the analysis of its nonlinear analysis deformation and the anti-seismic performance has shortages under large earthquake for this kind of structure.So far, the nonlinear analysis of special-shaped columns is only confined with the section, considering the curvature ration. This paper does the research about displacement ductility ratio, yield bearing capacity, terminal bearing capacity for special-shaped columns-such as L shape, T shape and 十 shape, with taking account of axial compression ratio, local angle, stirrup space, the ratio of stirrup and etc. The reasonable axial compression, load angle and the ratio of stirrup of special-shaped columns are gained from the contrastive analysis.The model of one special-shaped column frame with bottom rectangle columns and one pure special-shaped column frame are established and the model of restoring force is proposed in this paper. The time-history dynamic analysis of the two frame structure by the finite element program ANSYS has got the displacement of every floor by loading ELCENTRO seismic curve on the model. This paper has also researched the displacement of every floor through changing the bottom story height and the reinforcing steel bar ratio of bottom story rectangle column. It has different results by changing the stiffness of the bottom story columns. It is proved that the anti-seismic performance of special-shaped column frame with bottom rectangle columns is better than pure special-shaped column frame system.
