The AC contactor is one of the basic electric appliances, and it is widely applied in the electrical equipments for satisfying the necessity of the electrical power system. The marketing quantity in China is up to ten million units per fiscal year. If the intelligent protection and control function and network information communication are added to AC contactor, it will bring great convenience to the chemical industry, petroleum and the control of the distribution and centralization. And it will increase the management level and productive efficiency. The purpose of this paper is to research and develop an intelligent AC contactor with direct control function of onsite network, based on the combination application of the electrical appliance intelligence, network and information.In this thesis, based on the detailed analysis of the structure and operating principle of traditional AC contactor, the embedded technology, Internet information communication technology and intelligent protection and control technology are integrated and applied to traditional AC contactor production. Based on the R&D of the intelligent electric appliance, the traditional AC contactor without protection and communication function is employed as the researched object. The intelligent protection and control function, network communication and monitor function are integrated implemented by adding the intelligent control module and adopting the embedded system and TCP/IP protocol. The traditional AC contactor has become a new informational intelligent contactor with embedded net control and intelligent protection functions. For realizing the valid application to the normal electric appliance with intelligent control, the embedded Internet technology with compatibility and the embedded module are adopted. And the problem, such as, the lower efficiency and off-line monitor for remote control and distribution object electric appliance control can be effectively solved. The traditionalcommunication way for supervisor also can be changed. The integrated of the electric appliance intelligence, network, information, openness and incompatibility can be realized.The design of AC intelligent and network contactor covers two parts: software and hardware. Based on the design and debugging of the software and hardware, the AC contactor can effectively perform the intelligent protection functions, such as the short circuit, under voltage, over voltage, overload, grounding in the power line. Moreover, real-time communication is implemented between the net controller and terminal computer through Ethernet. The display about the current and the voltage of circuit and the different faults information, the historical data inquiry and printing function can be obtained by using client programs which is compiled by Delphi language or IE browser.Furthermore, for ensuring the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) of the control system, some practicable resisting interference measures about software and hardware have been presented. And the feasibility and reliability of the proposed intelligent control and TCP/IP protocol in the embedded system have been verified by the demonstrated examples.
