With the development of technology and economy, Hydraulic machinery are widely used to transport all kinds of solid matter in many fields. As a new kind of impurity pump, Screw centrifugal pump combines the advantages of screw pump and centrifugal pump, and the special structure can bring into play their advantages sufficiently. Comparing with the traditional impurity pump, screw centrifugal pump has a series of strong points, such as: good though condition, not easily building up, little abrasion in flowing parts, high efficiency, good nature life, low expense, and good accommodation.To make screw centrifugal have better performance, the traditional designing method can't satisfy the needs preferably, so we should adopt the modern designing theory and method. At the same time, it is very important to designers to know about the flowing distributions. Because there are some difficult in the experiment research, such as great investing, long period and so on, the experiment method, the data's precision and reliability will be restricted by testing instruments and environment, and the analyzing ability on the flowing fields and the remote flow structures will also be restricted. Therefore it is very popular to simulate the flow field using the CFD software. It can make up the shortage of experiment. In turn, it can offer the fit part to test.According to simulating the flow field in screw centrifugal pump, we get the distributions of velocity, pressure and volume fraction in screw centrifugal pump, and catch some important flow phenomena. Then, analyzing datum in a detailed way, we find out some factors affecting the performance of screw centrifugal pump, offer necessary references to improve on the type of vanes and improve the whole efficiency. As a conclusion, the simulation result of transporting the pure water with CFD software can fit the experiment result very well;the simulation result to transport the solid and fluid medium can also fit the distribution of two phases. In addition, the size of particle and volume fraction of solid medium has great effect on the flow. The results of research offers reliable information to improve the pump performance, and offer some theory to design the screw centrifugal pump.
