In recent years ,as a static Elastic- Plastic analysis method, Push-over analysis is easy to implement and is a more accurate analysis method. The structure can be effectively simulated from bearing force to damage. It can discover structural weaknesses, thus effective measures can be taken to avoid damage to these parts. So it has been increasing attention in aseismic analysis. However, some problems about the practical application of Push-over requires in-depth research, such as reasonable options of loading model, target displacement and conditions of application, etc. In this thesis, taking the example of a low-level structure and a high-level structure with the help of SAP2000/ETABS,a famous FEM software. The major work carried out following:(1) Introducing the development and theoretical basis of nonlinear static analysis.(2) Applying five different loading models for two steel frames, analyzing the impact of different loading models to push-over. When the structure has lower storeys and has no braces, various models have some differences in the results of the analysis,if braces exists, the results are almost the same; When the structure storeys is high, the model A, D analysis will be larger and model C will be minor in the results of the analysis.(3) Comparing the results of Push-over and time-history methods As can be seen by comparing the two methods in the results of the two analysis, they have some differences, but the difference is not too big, which further proove the validity of Push-over..(4) Introducing the processing of the results of Push-over.(5) Summary of the characteristics and limitations of this method.
