The servo system has been increasingly used in the industry because of its high efficient drive performance and good control performance. The rapier loom has the strongest adaptability in the shuttle-less looms and many customers. Electronic let off (ELO) and electronic take up (ETU) has become the important symbol of advanced looms. So it is essential to improve the ELO and ETO performance of the rapier loom in order to adapt the development of the looms.This paper completed research and development work of the ELO and ETU control system, mainly included following several aspects:(1) The scheme of ELO and ETU control system is put forward based on AC Servo system by analyzing the development and the work elements of LO and TU system both in China and abroad.(2) The main control board based on DSP includes DSP main circuit and other interface circuit and so on is designed. It is used in disposed the digital and logic signal.(3) The ELO and ETU hardware control system based on the A.C. servomechanism is designed and the element plan is presented.(4) The software of the ELO and ETU control system based on the hardware is designed. The function of ELO is to control the tensile force stability, the function of ETU is to control the fabric density exactitude and it can change the fabric density on-line. This system can input eight kind of tensile force and fabric density by HMI. In addition, the system also increased the function of stop-bridge;it can realize some special technological requirement.(5) Through the hardware and the software two aspects antijamming ability measures, enhanced the system reliability.(6) To drove the start mark produced to carry on the detailed elaboration, and according to the above proposed the tensity compensated with the weft density compensates two kinds of quite practical solutions, might distinct improvement drive the mark question in the actual debugging process.The structure of ELO and ETU control system has reasonable structure, high reliability and low cost. So it can substitute the importations.
