Thermal environment of a building is affected by the outdoor climate, the performance of the indoor heating sources and the ventilation of the building . Real meteorological parameters are essential to the building thermal environment analysis and energy consumption simulation.Limited by the poor equipment, technology and the like, measurement parameters in most meteorological stations are always not accurate enough and the meteorological data collected, hereby the global solar radiation data, are insufficient, which will greatly holdback the building energy simulation. Therefore, the goal of this paper is to build a more accurate solar radiation model and make more meteorological data accessible.With the help of the ground observed meteorological data (1970-2000) from the central national meteorological station, the national solar radiation models are established based on empiral models for the whole country around. The whole country is divided into five solar radiation zones according to heat distribution.1. The whole country is divided into five radiation zones based on the clearness index, altitude, latitude and heat distribution zones used by 122 meteorological stations around the country.2. Based on ground meteorological data from 194 stations, climate condition of each radiation zone is analyzed according to air temperature, temperature difference, relative humidity, global solar radiation, sunshine hour.3. Global solar radiation data have gone through the necessary data quality control procedure to meet the need of the statistical analysis4. Four estimation modes of clearness index are established based on Angstrom mode and Bahel mode, and the interrelation between the clearness index and sunshine percentage is analyzed in each meteorological zone respectively. Finally, the empiralregression constants of several zones are figured out from the above analysis.
