Based on the characteristic of solar energy of being clean, convenient and inexhaustible, it was in high favor of people under the double pressures of energy crisis and environmental pollution problems, it makes the fields that related with solar energy, such as solar photovoltaic, solar building integration, solar refrigeration, solar heating, solar drying be got rapid development. The usage of solar energy is on the basis of conversion of solar radiation, therefore it involves the calculation of solar radiation, especially in the contruction application of solar energy, it always involves the calculation of solar radiation with different azimuth sand tilts.Since solar radiation calculation is complex, if manual method was adopted to calculate it, it is not only time-consuming, but also in lower calculation precision. Therefore according to the practical needs of engineering, the advantage of computer was taken in this paper to develop a system of solar radiation calculation, which can meet the needs of solar energy application design and analysis.The development of solar energy and the progress of solar radiation calculation were summarized, then based on the daily and hourly radiation data of the typical meteorological year, the different methods used to calculate solar radiation were analyzed and compared in this paper, and the practical method was chosen to calculate the daily radiation of the arbitrary inclination and the radiation of vertical face; Then the shading condition of radiation between the up-layer collector and down-layer collector was analyzed, and the calculation expression of shading factor was obtained by using the geometry relation, hourly radiation shading factor was calculated based on this, the calculation under the shading situation on the down-layer collector casted by up-layer collector was analyzed, and the calculation of solar radiation was obtained, finally, an average shading factor was obtained on this basis.The human interface of Visual Studio.NET was taken as the design face and Visual Basic.NET language was used as the development tool, SQL Server2008was chosen as the data storage and management platform in this topic, the program was maden to calculate the solar radiation of the arbitrary inclination, the vertical surface and the shading radiation caused by up-layer collector on the down-layer collector, thus a software, which was convenient for users to utilize, was developed. The calculation results can be exported to Excel to make it convenient for users to view and compare. This system designed under the module is a database application system based on Windows, which has perfect function and is easy to expand.The software developed in this paper was used to calculate the solar radiation of inclination, vertical face and the hourly shading factor of down-layer collector casted by up-layer collector, and shading radiation between the two collectors as well as the average shading factor, finally the results obtained were analyzed.
