The stability of structure is a basic research task in solid mechanics all the time and is also one of the difficult problems which need to be urgently solved in aerospace industry equipments now. The beam and cylindrical shells are the most common structural forms. Compared with general structures, since for beams and cylindrical shells, the geometrical equations are mostly simplified in forms, so their bucklings are playing an important role in the structural stability, which have increased great developments in the theories of structural stability. In this thesis, a theoretical analysis of the stability of slender beams and cylindrical shells under torsional impacted load are presented in detail. At the same time, some attempts on the numerical arithmetic are carried out.In this paper, some major research directions in the stability theory of structure are introduced, as well as the progresses of researches in the stability fields. The main comments are systematically remarked on the research methods and buckling phenomenons of dynamnic buckling of shell under torsional impacted load and the contrastive analysis of the buckling problems of shells with different materials. According to these investigations, we provide some significative conclusions.Due to the numerous and complicated analysis methods at present, in this paper, we combined the theories and the numerical researches on the dynamic buckling of shell.Based on the theory of stress wave, we define the model of loads, and we also educe the results that the torsional impact loads are the phase impact loads.Making use of the finite element methods, we settle the problems of dynamic buckling of shells under torsional impacted loads, and offer the arithmetics with different characteristics in the common use. By these, we take numerical calculations with the ANSYS finite element softwares, and take into account the influences by the materials, geometry, loads and so on. At last, we supply some outcomes. The dynamic buckling of shells, when subjected to a torsional impact at one end, is studied in the present paper on the theory of stress wave propagation and finite element methods. In this paper, we demonstrate the buckling progresses definitely going with the coupling impacts of the stress wave. According to the results, we reasonably interpret the physics phenomenons of reflections and progressions by the stress wave.By the analysis of the developments of the buckling shells with different materials, we expatiate on the influences due to the materials characteristics and supply the reasonable explanations. In conclusion, the method, in this paper, provides a solving way for similar problems.
