Along with the gradual deepening of commercialized operation of power industry,the domestic electricity generation enterprises more and more urgently realize toenhance the reliability of generating equipment is an important assurance that adapts thenew market demand, and is also an essential precondition of participating in competition.So, implements effective reliability evaluation and adopts appropriate maintenancestrategy to the equipment, has the great significance for guarantee that the plant operatesmore economically and reliably as well as reduces the cost of electricity-generating. Thistext has established reliability evaluation models of most main systems of thermal powerplant which based on the basic commonly used reliability indexes and main reliabilityindexes of generating equipment, has carried on the analysis to equipment maintenancestrategy of the electricity generation enterprises, has established the optimization modelof equipment preventive maintenance cycle and applied the genetic algorithm to solve it,then has carried on designs to the reliability evaluation and maintenance decisionsupport system of thermal power plant, and finally has put forward the prospect to theequipment reliability evaluation and maintenance work of the electricity generationenterprises.
