Research And Design Of The Auto-excitation System Based On IGBT

With the development of electric power system and advancement of technology, the demands for synchronous generator excitation equipment are also unceasingly enhancing. People already no longer merely satisfied the realization of basic functions. Superior performance, function entire and reliable high automatic excitation installment satisfies the request of the synthesis automation of electric power system. Therefore, to the excitation installment static state and the dynamic quality and the software and hardware platform compatibility, flexible and so on set a harsher request.The load is changing when the generator is working normal. The effect to the generator excitation magnetic field is different when the capacity and power factor is different. The internal impedance voltage drop is different. To sustain the voltage of generator stable, we must regulate the generator excitation all the times, according to the capacity and the quality of load. This regulating course must be realized through the auto-excitation equipment only.This paper introduced the characteristic and function of the regulation of auto-excitation system based on IGBT in excitation system of synchronous generator. It summarizes the principle of IGBT and the modulator principle of CPU by 80C196KC. Hardware structure, software system and the realization of their functions all are detailed in this dissertation. Then, such jobs as design of IGBT securing and drive unit, design of main loop, hardware and software of 80C196KC regulator are fulfilled. At the end of this dissertation, the auto-excitation system based on IGBT is tested, the results of test suggest that the auto- excitation system based on IGBT is fit for synchronous generators and its dynamic and static qualities attain or surpass the quality prescribed in related national.The auto-excitation system based on IGBT has simple operating theory, excellent control ability, strong stability and reliability. All of these make it greatly significant for improving stability of power system with wide market foreground, In some kinds of power station, the auto-excitation system is the key equipment of the synchronous generator working normal and electric power system stable. Now theelectric power system is developing the big and gigantic scale generator based on saving the energy and reducing the wastage, but based on protecting environment, from now on the small and the middle water electric power will be developed, so the auto-excitation regulator fit for the small electrical power has the great market potentialities, it will a bright future in the medium-sized and small-sized power station.
