The Study On Demands On Environmental Space For The Elders In Modern Society

China has now been staging in an aged society. One of important problems to beconsidered is how the designer adapts and satisfies the elder people's needs of housing.The author carries out a systematic and deep investigation on the present demands andfurther developments on the living condition of the old people. The paper could be areference for the design of housing old people.The paper briefly reviews, from the point of view of the space-related needs ofold people's live, the current situation of housing constructions home and abroad atfirst, and make a further analysis on reasons corresponding to such a poor statusregarding to these. The paper also covers the physical and psychologicalcharacteristics of the old people, their requirements of housing and living model aswell. By summarizing existing house types for old people, a primary study on the"smart" facilities for old people's living space is taken beside the discussion on theconstructed samples in the paper.At last, based on our country's present condition, the paper points out that theold people's housing has to get into a feasible cycling in the estate market .
