Form error is an important evaluating indicator for piece part. With the development of modern industry, modern coordinate measuring techniques becomes a new technology of measurement. The research based on the methods of evaluation of the form errors is very important. According to the definition and evaluating standards of form error in GB, mathematical models of the form error evaluating method is established, arithmetic of computer is designed and a evaluation software is developed in this paper. The details as follow:1.Based on rules about form error in GB, mathematical models of form error are established including straightness error on the base of minimizing zone method,least-squares method and two dots linked method ; flatness error based on minimizing zone method,lease-squares method,diagonal line and three dots method; circularity and cylindricity error based on minimizing zone method,lease-squares method,minimum circumscribed circle(column) and maximum inscribed circle(column).2.Based on the mathematical models, the arithmetic for all kinds of elements are developed, including: Three methods for evaluating straightness error in plane and follow certain orientation. Least-squares method and two dots linked method for evaluating straightness error in plane in space. Four methods for evaluating flatness error. Four methods for evaluating circularity error. least-squares method for evaluating cylindricity error.3.Using language of VC++, a software of form error evaluating is developed. Module structure is adopt in this software and every element has one module. In order to improve clear of the result, using OpenGL it make the results visual, the result of figure could rotate and zoom free, so it can be viewed conveniently.4.The correctness of arithmetic and useful of software was proved trough a lot of examples in this paper.
