Embankment project is a direct and important form of preventing storm tide disasters. In order to preventing tidal and wind attacks, various kinds of sea dike projects were constructed along 18000km coastline in our country. Through the site investigation, the main part seawall damage and damage analysis of the causes were concluded, also seawall protection measures were proposed to be taken. Combining the 4th stage for container terminal projects in Beilun of Ningbo port, the embankment project was designed. In the design, the main purpose is to discuss the retaining dyke's reasonable top elevation, the section form of embankment structure, face protection and bottom protection structure form, and soft foundation consolidation etc. From the whole design, some reasonable and feasible schemes were proposed about embankment structure. Also embankment means were proposed according to the characteristics in deep water.Wave model test of embankment structure is one of the important means of breakwater design. Through wave model tests, the feasibility and reasonability of embankment design were verified and optimized.
