A description is given of the technical developing tunnel and the existing theories of tunnel lining structure of shield-driven design. Based on the theoretical study, the appearance and the material of shield tunnel segments are analyzed entirely from the theories. Then from the analysis conclusion, an improved scheme is presented and the possibility of scheme is analyzed at the same time.Stucture analysis of shield tunnel segments by Ansys 8.0.a)When one segment is lifted .b)Analysis of the segments when they were set up.c)Analysis of the segments when the tunnel boring machine head on.The existent of joint is the main feature of shield-driven tunnel segmental linings. Rigidity of segment joint has close relation with the distribution of internal force on segmental linings, so it is important parameters in lining analysis. Furthermore, based on the theoretical study of the joints among segments, a mechanical model is chose.The model could entirely express the mechanical and deformation properties of the joints under any combination of forces such as bending moment, axial force and linking bolt pre-stress. A corresponding joint program is written to analyze the joints of tunnel lining for the existing metro.At last, mainly based on the mechanical behavior of shield-tunnel segments, thetunnel lining structure design is optimized. Form the combination of the different thickness of segments with the diferent position of bolts in joints, an optimization method of tunnel structure design is expressed.
