The excitation system is the important part of the hydroelectric generating set. The main function is provide a adjustable DC current to the hydroelectric set, keep the voltage from waving, distribute the power among the hydroelectric sets, and let the electric power system run safely.With the development of hydroelectric set and electric net, more demand is given to the excitation adjust system, such as the fast response, reliability and multifunction .So theory and practice of excitation system is also updating, developing and becoming more perfect .So the conventional analog excitation adjust system can not meet the demand .In recent years, microcomputer technology is developing very fast, with the new technology we can replace the analog excitation adjust system and get more benefit.This thesis introduces a new instrument about excitation system. Based on MSP430 series single-chip computer, and composed with analog and digital circuit, a practical device is developed.The thesis is divided into 4 parts.The first one introduces the structure of computer excitation system, give out the main parts and the functions of every part, and how each parts work.The second part is about the design of hardware. It based on MSP430 single-chip computer.The third part is theory of control research, mainly discuss PID control theory is used in this excitation system.The last part is how do this set use in practic, the given data is come from debugging. With these data we can learn the computer controlled excitation system is very practicality in realism.
