In pumping water supply system the water hammer (or hydraulic transients) take place frequently. Water hammer is caused by many reasons, for example, inadvertent stoppage of the pump by operator, pump failure, and disaster, etc.. The harmfulness of the water hammer by an accidental pump shut down is tremendous. Water hammer accident can cause the pipeline to break , the equipment to be damaged , leak and even give up water in a large amount; cause the pump station to flood and destroy sometimes, loss of life ,etc. A large number of facts and accidents show: any advanced country, can not all prevent stopping the emergence of the pump water hammer completely. Human efforts lie in reducing its danger and loss to minimum. This paper combines the project instance, calculate computer simulation in thought of putting forward many kinds of protective measures of adopting and combining together, its purpose is to reduce the danger of water hammer and so as to ensure the project normal running of pump station.This text introduced the pump station hydraulic transition calculating basic principle and methods. Combine the pump station engineering actuality, build up the same model water pump merge under equilateral boundary condition of the water hammer calculation mathematics model, wrote the visual program with the VB language, make use of the computer to carry on imitating the calculation. Combine the actuality of Yuzhong steel factory pump station for supplication water, analysis and calculate the water hammer accident, put forward the concrete protective measures of the water hammer. According to the imitative calculation to various boundary condition and the running work condition of the water hammer, the paper get the superior operation procedure of the multi-function water pump control valve, it can prevent the pump station from going up and the machine from turning in reverse obviously. Place the one-way pressure regulation tower nearby the exit of the pump station where the pipeline rise up 17.79 meter suddenly, the measure can prevent minus pressure and water column separation .Setting the enter-exhaust valve at the position where the minus pressure exceed -5 meter can prevent the water column from separating in the part protrusions of the pipeline.This text research express that for long piping pump station, the accident water hammer protection of the pump to want to carry on analysis calculation according to the boundary condition, and combine the pipeline to arrange, adopting the homologous protection measure, for example, multi-function water pump control valve or two stages close valve, one-way pressure regulation tower and enter-exhaust valve etc. Various protection measure then can rise the protection result. Also carried on elaborating to the water hammer of the different path complications pipeline calculation problem in the text, put forward the problem remaining to study further at present in the water hammer of pump station is analyzed finally in the article.Result of study of this paper is it supply water to Yuzhong steel factory pump station run and manage the beneficial conclusion to draw not merely, and is worth consulting to the water hammer theory of the pump system and method of protecting.
