Belt conveyor is the primary continuous convey installation of mining enterprise, and compared with other convey installation , it has better economic benefit and lower convey cost. As the most important part of belt conveyor, take-up system has the use of protecting the slipping of belt on the driving drum and reducing the operation resistance of belt between the roller. With the uninterrupted growth of the convey capacity and the unceasing elongation of the laneway in the pit of the mining ,the length of belt is gradually increased . The take-up device of the long-distance belt conveyor is meeting not only the need of the elongation of belts , but also the demand of tension adjusting ,that is in order to meet the dynamic anti-slide require of belt conveyor in the starting stage , it is asked to raise the friction by increasing the belts' tension, while in the equal velocity stage dropping the tension to maintain the normal working of the belt conveyor. With the conventional take-up device of belt conveyor ,the practical problems which doesn't protect the normal working of the belt conveyor caused by the larger change of belts' length doesn't beeffectually resolved . So a new type of take-up device should be researched and produced which can meet the demand of larger change of belts' length of belt conveyor , and can automatically adjust the belt s' tension according to the practical tension condition .With analyze of the theory of take-up system and research of domestic and foreign related subject ,this paper represents general design of automatically controlled hydraulic winch take-up system and illustrates the working stage of every part of it, the design and selecting of primary component of it . The paper also presents a practical and simple calculation progress of belts' tension by computer.In order to avoiding the pressure impact of hydraulic system in the stage of adjusting and completing the smooth adjusting of belts' tension, the PID control strategy of automatically controlled take-up system is put forwarded in the paper. With this strategy the take-up system can safely smoothly and continuously adjust the tension of belt.This paper illustrates the computer simulating and laboratory test of this take-up system , verifies the feasibility of this system and gives the theory and practical laws for the further researching of this automatically controlled take-up system.The take-up system takes hydraulic winch as action element ,and comprises of hydraulic system control monitor device and electronic controlled system , It is a typical product which is integrated by mechanic hydraulic and electronic , and it has the ability of automatic adjusting of the belts' tension ,rapid respond velocity, better adaptability, convenient control, good safety and prefect function, and has the better promotion andapplication prospect.
