Rocket propellant pipeline contains a lot of pipes. In order to improve pipeline's compensation and technology, pipeline system embodies some bellows. When the valve of rocket propellant pipeline is opened or closed, water hammer will arise in pipeline. Water hammer threatens the security of pipeline system and sometimes it is broken down in the course of the real work and experiment. Water hammer always appears in city water supply and heating system of home and external.This paper firstly presents the water hammer of rocket propellant pipeline. This paper uses difference methods to calculate the data of water hammer. It includes three states: elastic deformation zone; plastic deformation zone; joint zone. Dealing with questions in the real work and experiment, the paper secondly uses ANSYS/FLOTRAN software to analyze and calculate water hammer. There is a little difference between theory and ANSYS analysis. It has taken better directing function in designing experiment.Lastly, it is proved that the bellows fully absorb pressure of water hammer when the valve shuts down by means of contrasting the experiment data. The water hammer experiment includes two states: simple pipelines and bellows. When the bellows is placed in plastic deformation zone, the function of absorbing is the strongest. To sum it up, bellows of pipeline make the water hammer become mitigation. This conclusion has the important meaning for the engineering. But there are certain differences existing in the data. It does not consider the characteristic of material and the air ring of bellows in the course of analysis. During the experiment, writer of this paper analyzes the measurement error. Finally this paper points out the error influence is little, and it is accepted in the engineering. Author of this paper calculates the stability and frequency and fatigue life of bellows.On the basis of analysis and experiment, author of this paper puts forward a proposal of selecting parameter and arranging position in the course of the designing pipe line of rocket. For example, improving structure and lightening weight of corrugated pipe are advantageous to increase reliability of rocket. This paper affords a method during the designing of rocket propellant pipeline.
