Recently, with the development of damp technology in vibration and noise controlling. The damp material and some compound structures made of it are used in many field. So it is quite important to learn their mechanics characters. The elastic modulus and loss factor are the two most important parameters of their mechanics properties. And these two parameters are also important for choosing material in mechanical component designing. In this paper, we introduce a method and its corresponding realization system to get these two important parameters. The result achieved by this method can be used as a reference in the acoustical component designing and noise controlling application. And it can also be used to analyze the damp ability of varies compound structures.According to process of system research , this paper can be divided into three parts: studying the principle of measurement, composing the system and testing its effect.The testing system realized in this paper is based on the flexural resonance theory of hanging stick. Deducing from this theory, we achieved several equations about flexural resonance of uniformity and composite stick. According to the measure conditions, the influence of moment of inertia and shear can be neglected.The main work of the designing system are sample making, platform designing and system composing. The whole system is added by computer. So that the errors made by worker can be avoided. The apparatuses of system are mainly consisted of the powering and checking blocks. The frequency modulate signal made by the signal generator powers the sample, and the information of the resonance are achieved by the displacement-sensor. Then the parameters about the resonated frequency and -3dB band width can be achieved by analyzing these information. In order to make the operation easy, we not only considered thecollocation of the all apparatuses, but also designed a software for the system.In the last part, we analyzed a large mount of data for testing the effect of the system. From the general results, we know that the research is successful. And the results of the uniformity sticks and compound sticks made of high modulus damp materials are exact. But those compound sticks made of low modulus damp materials are more sensitive to the measure error. This aspect need further research.
