As for more and more attention is paid to the customer's desire for increasing comfort in the sense of noise and vibration, to isolate the vehicle frame/body from the engine's vibration has become more and more important. However, theories and experiments have proved that the design process of a vehicle powertrain mounting system must content several conflicting requirements. Generally, a stiff mounting system is required for a satisfying handling performance, namely, constraining the motion of powertrain within an acceptable extent. Meanwhile, a soft mounting system is required for ideal isolation of the vehicle frame/body from powertrain vibration. Aimed at find a solution for these conflicts, this dissertation contains the research of design and optimizing the isolation characteristic of powertrain mounting system. The final performance of the optimized scheme indicates that an optimal point has been achieved, that means, the powertrain vibration transmitting to vehicle frame/body has been isolated under an acceptable level, furthermore, the basic functions of the mounting system, such as, constraining or handling the motion of the powertrain, has been ensured either.In this dissertation, following researches have been made:1. Based on a large number of references about the study of powertrain mounting system, this dissertation systematically discusses the research history of powertrain mount, and deeply researches on the history of the development of mounting system. Moreover, the effect to vehicle by mounting system is introduced in this paper. At the same time, this dissertation summarizes some principle and requirements of design and optimization design.2. In order to prepare for the design and improvement on the object engine, the dissertation collects a number of test data and reference concerning with the powertrain mounting system.3.
