Research On Visual Simulation For Logistics System Of Railway Container Yard

An important symbol of the development of railway freightage is container transportation. Railway container transportation is a mode of high-efficiency and safety, and the main station of railway container, which is also called railway container yard, is the key stand to realize logistics system of railway container. The research on logistics system of railway container can provide theoretical instruction for performance evaluation of the existing container yard and the design of new yards.Combining with existing logistics system of railway container transportation systems, the logistical rules of container yards and their mathematical descriptions are discussed. At the same time, by following discrete matters digital simulation principle, and utilizing database and computer graphics techniques, a three-dimensional and visual simulation system is set up in order to account and analyze the efficiency of the logistics system of yards, and to realize the real-time visualization of the system operation. The major contents of this article are as follow:(1) The construction of logistics system of railway container yard is discussed. Based on the management information system of container transportation and yard operation optimization, some yard operation evaluation factors and disposal strategy are brought forward to maintain the equilibrium of stacking yard.(2) The simulation idea on the base of database and modeling is putforward. The framework of the visual simulation system is discussed to makethe simulation system extensible and flexible.(3) By analyzing the characteristics of the operation of container yard and combining with visual simulation system, the simulation flow of the yard logistics system is proposed.(4) The simulation database for the yard system is built, and railway container yard information description system centering on the description of sites of the cargo in stacking yard is put forward; at the same time, by utilizing three-dimensional matrix to display the information of cargo sites, the algorithm for initialization of the stacking yard is established.(5) The visual modeling method of system simulation is presented in this paper. The modeling for simulation scene, the three-dimensional modeling for simulation entities, and the kinematic modeling are also discussed. One model type based on DOF is adopted to realize the visualization of hierarchy structures of simulation entities.
