In order to combine Jilintai first class water power station design work ,this paper study the engineering character of shot firing aggregate which was used to fill the dam . ⑴Through relative density test ,we get maximum dry density of the shot firing aggregate which has been compacted under same compactive effort ; The relation of strain and stress ,the shear resistance character and the law of parameter out of shape which has been gotten through the triaxial shear test .Explaining and proding how shot firing aggregate distroied and effect to engineering character of shot firing aggregate by water. ⑵Comparing sandy gravel and shot firing aggregate's parameter in the triaxial shear test .We get their generality and their own advantages and shortcomings. ⑶It introduce and analyses the constitutive model of rock fill dam .It has probed in to the question in caculateing and question existing ,getting parameters of test by the constitutive model by which can we explain the character of Shot firing aggregate. ⑷Finally according the test result which was got by Nanjin water convervancy of research institute in 2001 and Xinjiang agriculture university ,we caculate and analyse the Jilintai first class water power station's concrete-faced rock fill dam by three-dimensional finite element method. The caculate result show that the dam is society and it is a successful desing.
