Fault oscilloscope information has been analyzed by wavelet-box of MATLAB emulator in this paper. Firstly it is picked up that binary system wavelet transforms'connection of fault oscilloscope information between voltage break quantum and current break quantum at the time of fault. This character can be used to judge forward direction or reverse direction of fault and to make a sort of new type traveling wave protection. Because continue wavelet transform has choiceness characteristic, the harmonic measure department of fault record equipment has been ameliorated and every frequency with time field and frequency field double characters. Voltage , current and their sequence ponderances of normal run and fault run can be achieved by using oscilloscope information of fault forward and back. Then this side system impedance and remote end side system impedance all can be achieved. Finally, the question has been ameliorated that distance finding was not very exact for system impedance changing with time by recombining exact single side distance finding arithmetic.
