Concrete filled steel tube(CFST) is the building component which is formed after the concrete is filled in the steel tube. It utilizes the association function formed during the interactive course between steel tube and concrete, fully gives play to the advantages of these two kinds of materials , makes the plasticity and toughness of concrete greatly improved,and can avoid or delay part flection coming into being in steel tube . Because of all the advantages mentioned above ,concrete filled steel tube column has the advantages of high ability of bearing loads , fine plasticity andtoughness , excellent economic benefits and convenient construction , so it is widely used in all kinds of constructions such as superhigh construction, industrial building,bridge ,protection engineering etc..Besides normal designed load ,modern building bears accidental load such as mpact,explosion,earthquake etc..As the support structure,once it is failed the result is very serious,so the dynamic response of the short concrete filled steel tube column under different impact must be studied .Research about dynamic analysis under impact can be the focus of recent years. While various kinds of static mechanics behavior of the concrete filled steel tube have been studied ,the research about this aspect is very few,so much as we can say it is nearly a blank.The dynamic response of the short concrete filled steel tube column under different impact is studied with the large-scale finite element software ANSYS and its deformation curve, the maximum displacement , the stress-strain curve and the acceleration time-history curve are gotten. At the same timeaccording to the artificial results, a series of concrete filled steel tubes with different wall thicks is tested under impact in the impact lab,and the force, the acceleration time-history curve,the strain in key location and flection curve are obtained. This subject has offered the test data and the analysis method of finite element for studying this kind of material further, and gives reference synchronously while a civil engineer designs relevant structure .
