The mobile duster studied in this paper is a kind of nonstandard equipment for light rail transit, which is based on mechanical design, mechanical manufacture and dust-collecting technology. The introduction of design process and method of the mobile duster is given detailedly in this paper. And the mobile duster has already been studied and made successfully. The mobile duster is mainly used to collect dust for the device that in both bottom side of light rail vehicle, it uses the method of collecting dust in negative pressure and theory of catching dust by filter. First it uses compressed air to blow the part that needed to remove dust, and then pulls the dust into the filter device by the negative pressure which is produced by the fan. After the dust filtered, the fresh air is sent out through the vent. The mobile duster comprises dust-collecting system, battery truck, guiding device, dust-blowing device, machine box and electrical system. To begin with, this paper has introduced the whole plan of the mobile duster and analysed it's structure, then the design and calculation of collect dust system are given in detail, including the design and calculation of collect dust inlet and vent net, selection and analysis of fan and motor and calculation of dust efficiency. Then followed by analyses of the structure of battery truck, guiding device, the device for blow dust and machine box. Afterward, a introduction on how to choose storage battery and charger and electrical principal diagram of electrical system part are presented. Finally, the result of manufacture and technical data are given in the end part of this paper. The mobile duster studied in this paper meets the demands of the predefine design function by fixing, debugging and inspecting. Its velocity satisfies dust-collecting request and the dust-collecting efficiency satisfies technical request. The fan and motor works well without abnormal vibration and noise. This paper not only solves realistic problem, but also provides a reference for light rail mobile duster in the future along with the rapid development of light rail.
